It's time to get this blog back up and running! I've gone way too long without properly documenting my kiddos :(
A brief update on us:
Gabe - turned 6 in July. He's just a super fun kid. We took him with us to Chicago on a business trip and he had a blast! We checked out the zoo, saw the Cubs and Cardinals play, met up with two of my high school friends and their kids, went to the Children's Museum and Navy Pier, shopped along Michigan avenue (including the Lego Store!) and ate dinner at the Rainforest Cafe. He can't wait to go back! ;)
This year, we've being doing first grade material. Right now, we're mostly concentrating on the basics: learning to read, math, a little memorization thrown in. He played soccer in the spring and the fall season starts this Saturday. We also signed him up for Cub Scouts, which started last night. I think those two activities will keep us plenty busy!
Reese - turned 4 in June. Our little firecracker! She keeps us on our toes. She's finally getting a little less curious and a little less sneaky, but she still tests her boundaries now and then. Overall, she has such a fun, happy personality. Like any girl, though, you don't want to get on her bad side!
We haven't started much formal schooling with her yet. We're working on numbers, letter sounds, writing, etc. She's also starting soccer for the first time this fall. We're very excited about that!
Owen - turned 2 in July. Our sweet little boy! He throws a fit every now and then, but mostly, just replies to our requests with a simple "o-tay" when asked to do something. He LOVES Thomas the Train right now. He carries all four of his little engines around with him just about everywhere. I'm planning to take the kids to see Thomas at our local train station, and I can't wait to see his reaction. Hopefully, he's not scared!
I can remember how old Gabe and Reese seemed when they turned two, but Owen still seems like my little baby! And that's just fine by me. :)
Our family bought a jet ski this spring and we have had a lot of fun at the lake this summer. The kids love it! Our favorite lakes are Skiatook, Tenkiller and Table Rock. Gabe is becoming an expert driver! His record so far this summer is driving 54 mph (with me on back, of course!) Reese likes to go fast, too. Apparently, Owen likes to go fast when Dad is driving, but not when Mom is driving. Hmmm, what's he trying to say?!
I hope to update this more regularly, and I'd love to get back into my "picture of the day." I can't make any promises, though!
