28/365: the Devon building
Owen helped me unload the dishwasher this morning. He took my instructions to stack the like cups together a little too seriously. He declares his handiwork "the Devon building."

Kid funny of the day
Owen to Gabe: "you're an awesome
Dude." Just cracked me up in that little 4-year old voice of his.

Kid funny of the day
While riding in the car, Owen declared, "I smell something icky." And Reese retorted, without missing a beat, "maybe it's Gabe's armpits!"

21/365
Hadley had her 6-month checkup today. I still need to write a detailed update on her, but she's 16lb 2 oz (50th %) and 26 inches (57th%).
************
This is how I found Owen sleeping tonight (that's a pad of Post-it notes on his face.)
************
Kid funny of the day:
I was talking to Daddy on the phone and when I hung up Reese asked, "who was that, mommy?" I said, "it was daddy." And she said, "then why didn't you say, 'I love you' when you hung up?" Ah, the lessons we learn from our children!

20/365: first food!
Hadley had her first solid food today: rice cereal. She seemed to enjoy it at first, but she had enough after a few bites. She goes nuts when we eat or drink while holding her, so she's definitely ready! I'll try to upload the video when we get the computer fixed. (Did I mention Reese dropped and broke it? The same day she jumped on the ottoman and broke it? Yeah, there's a reason why we call her Destructo.)
Mother-daughter tea
Reese, Hadley, Grammy and I attended the annual mother-daughter tea put on by our homeschool group. As always, Reese and I had lots of fun. This was Grammy's first year to come with us and I think she plans to make it an annual event from now on.

19/365
It's January 19, and by my estimation, that means it's time to put Christmas away until next year (er, later this year.) The kids didn't quite agree, but we finally got the Christmas tree undecorated and hauled outside just in time to avoid a house fire. That thing was beyond crispy.

17/365: a tooth and a tongue
Reese lost her first big front tooth tonight while taking a bath. She was very exited! This is tooth #3.
Hadley was cracking us up today with the new toy she discovered: her tongue. She kept sticking it out all day. Very adorable.

16/365: the good, the bad and the ugly
As we were getting ready for church tonight, Owen got sick. That was just the start. Before the night was over, mom, Reese and Gabe were sick too. Dad and Hadley seem to have escaped for now.
Today was Hadley's half birthday, but a longer update will have to wait til tomorrow.
Here a pic of the girls playing with Grammy. Poor Owen just looks on. Yes, that's a puke bucket next to him. No, he's not very good at hitting it.

15/365: sneak peek
The granite countertops arrived for one of the vanities today (not the one I posted earlier. That one is still sitting in a bedroom.)
This is the second go round for this bathroom. The first time they installed them, the sinks were not centered with the wall-mounted faucets, not to mention several other little things wrong with it. I'm much happier this time!

14/365: this is how we roll
Hadley doesn't like to be put down very often. Most of the time, I can throw her in the backpack and get chores done for an hour or so without a peep. How could I mind such a cute passenger?

13/365: tasty toys
Hadley slept through the night last night for the first time since she was about 6 weeks old. Sleep training is tough, but I think it's paying off. She's sleeping much better recently.
Here she is exploring her new toy from Aunt Diana. Of course, that meant seeing what it tastes like.

10/365: a few of her favorite things
Hadley loves sitting in the high chair and playing with toys and noogies. It will usually buy me a few minutes to clean up or help one of the other kiddos with something.
I'm also including a few bonus pics because she's cute. She just won't keep those toes out of her mouth.

Thunder up
Gabe and Dave went to the Thunder game tonight. I took Gabe last year and he was super bummer that he didn't catch a shirt when they threw them into the crowd. He wasn't disappointed this year.
Kid Funny of the day
We pulled up to Chick-fil-a for dinner and I ask Owen and Reese what they want. Owen starts telling me he wants chicken and fries and chocolate milk. Then he says he wants a cheeseburger. I said "chick-fil-a doesn't have cheeseburgers, silly!" And he said, "just teasing. Gotcha!" Lol!
Bonus pic
One of the challenges of having so many kids is getting them to all look and smile at the camera at the same time. This is the closest I've gotten so far.
9/365: a little surprise
I was having a rough morning, when I realized the kids were awful quiet. I noticed Reese peeking her head out of my bedroom door, and I just knew they were making some kind of mess. To my surprise, they were actually cleaning! They washed my windows, made my bed and cleaned my bathroom sinks. Sometimes, they can be really sweet kids. :)
Don't mind the big wall in the background.

8/365: sitting
She's getting closer and closer to sitting. She sure likes to play with a paci. Wish she'd really take one.
Kid funny of the day
I made the kids pancakes for breakfast. I asked Owen if he wanted the syrup on them or in a little bowl to dip. He said he wanted it on them. Gabe said, "that's how I do it, too, Owen. That way, there's no extra work." Ah, what a rough life he leads. Not sure if I should be proud that he's efficient or appalled that he's lazy.

7/365: Bubba O
Owen doesn't ask to hold her quite as often as the other two, but he likes to hold her every once in a while

Kid funny of the day
Reese was quite a handful today. Off and on she was screaming like a banshee and in tears. Finally, late tonight, she was just happy as could be. Dave remarked to her, "Reese, you sure are a happy girl" and she retorted, "Yeah, I am. For now." Truer words were never spoken. She gives us a run for our money!
